Dear Parents/Carers,

We are extremely pleased to inform you that Rowlatts Hill Primary has now been judged a ‘GOOD’ school following the recent Ofsted inspection in January 2013.

Since the school came out of ‘Special Measures’ in November 2007 and then the following inspection in October 2009 where it was deemed ‘Satisfactory’ the school has continued to make significant improvements which, we are pleased to say, have been recognised by this inspection. As you will be aware, this Ofsted framework has been significantly revised becoming more rigorous and demanding, hence we are even more delighted to have achieved this result under the new framework. The report recognises the hard work and commitment of our teachers, support staff and governors and the overall strong ‘teamwork’ in the school, with high morale amongst all the staff.

We would like to also say a huge thank you to you, our parents/carers and the wider community, for your contribution to helping the school achieve such a positive report. It is through this genuine partnership that Rowlatts Hill Primary has finally received the recognition it deserves. We look forward to continuing this partnership to provide the best for our pupils in the future.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you and well done to all our pupils who came across as polite, friendly and wanting to achieve whatever their ethnicity, background or religion. A comment made during the inspection will long remain in the memory, which was that ‘your pupils walk tall with pride!’ Every effort made at Rowlatts Hill Primary is to give each pupil the best possible start in life and we were thrilled that the hard work and dedication of our fantastic school community has been recognised. Our school vision is ‘Together we success though challenge and enjoyment’ and we believe this was recognised by the inspection team.

We would like to mark this wonderful achievement with a ‘Celebration Event’ on Friday 15th March at 2pm to 3pm where we hope parents/carers and the wider community will come to school and join in with their child/rens festivities. Please look out for details in the newsletters over the next few weeks.

Yours sincerely
