Rowlatts Bake-Off 2018
This week every year group from Foundation Stage to Year 6 presented a hand baked cake to a panel of judges to see who made the most yummy cake. All submissions had to contain fruit and/or vegetables (i.e.not a chocolate cake or Victoria Sponge) and should be a single tier. They each had to bake the cake from scratch for themselves and with minimal help from an adult.
They were all brilliant but there could be only one winner. This year it was these wonderful children in Year 2 with a very scrumptious Courgette Cake.
Diwali Celebrations 2018
This morning our key stage 1 children put on a fantastic Diwali Performance. Well done KS1 and thanks to all the families who came to see it.
SINGING COMPETITION WINNERS
Today saw all of KS1 and 2 take part in the most fabulous singing competition. Such a lot of hard work has gone into the songs and the dance routines were brilliant.
Well done to everybody who took part. You were all amazing!
The overall winners were… YEAR 5 with Love Yourself by Justin Bieber
In second place was Year 4 and Year 1 came third.
- 2nd Place Year 4
- 3rd Place Year 1
Individual dance winners were Frankie D and Keira C
Dragon’s Den 2017
- The Dragons
- Joint Winners
- Third Place
This year’s Dragon’s Den was, once again, a fantastic success. The pupils had clearly worked very hard indeed to create their new product ideas, their presentations and be ready for the tough questions from this year’s Dragons.
Competition this time around was SO fierce that the Dragon’s couldn’t separate them and we had, for the very first time, joint winners.
The two year groups who shared the first prize were (in no particular order)…
Years 3 with THE BOTTLE HEAD
A multi-purpose storage container made from recycled bottles
and Year 4 with SUPER SWEET BADGES
Badges made from recycled sweet wrappers
In in third place was…
Year 2 with THE SLIDEBOARD
A handy and easy-to-store dry wipe boards, pens and boards rubbers
Well done to all the pupils who put in such an amazing amount of effort.
Numeracy Curriculum Morning
This week our parents came into the school to join their children with a special curriculum morning. There were all kinds of activities for the parents and children to do together.

Dragon’s Den Part 2
This morning we had a whole school assembly and showed our children and families the final recording of the Dragon’s Den event of two weeks ago.
And we now have a winner!!
Congratulations go to Class 8 for their fantastic idea of an All-Weather Jacket that was bright, reflective, waterproof, had removable sleeves and a removable lining for the various weather conditions we get on these fair Isles.
Well done to the children involved; Bhumika, Maryam, Fazluna, Mason, Sneha, Kehul and Rayne. And let’s not forget the support of the class teacher, Miss Hubbard.
Well done also to Year 2 who were second place with their fantastic Soap product. What a great idea that was.
Winter Fair – 16th Dec 2014
Come along to the school on Tuesday the 16th of December 3-5pm and enjoy a couple of hours of fun and games at the Rowlatts Hill Winter Fair.
As usual there will be stalls and activities to have a go at, along with the usual tasty selection of food for your Tuesday Tea.
As always, we desperately need donations for prizes, especially for the Tombola and Bottle Tombola stalls. And the more chocolate and sweeties the better.
Thanks for your donations today (Friday) but please feel free to drop any additional donations off at the school office. Not to Mr Penton, he might eat them.
A Plane? In the Car Park?
Yes, that’s right. We had a plane in the school car park. (Or at least the front end of one).
Friend of the school and former RAF aviation engineer, Andy, spent the full day explaining all about planes and how they work to children from across the school. People got a chance to sit in the cockpit and play with the controls. For more pictures have a look at the newsletter we sent out at the following link…
